In the monumental village of Vallo di Nera, a region covered with castles and villas, Fior di Cacio returns on Saturday, June 22, and Sunday, June 23, 2024. This is the artisan cheese market exhibition of quality dairy and Umbrian products. Now in its 20th edition, this event was created from the start to restore value to an ancient trade typical of the Valnerina, that of the shepherd, which deserves to be preserved and supported. In a stunning natural landscape, there will be tasting and sales stalls featuring the best Umbrian artisan cheeses: from barrel-aged pecorino to raw milk primo sale, from the most refined goat cheese to the sought-after salted ricotta of Valnerina, among the flagship products of the pastoral tradition of this area. In the stone village surrounded by woods and mountains, cheese stalls will also mix with other typical Umbrian foods, such as local cured meats, truffles, saffron, legumes, wines, jams, and artisanal handicrafts. The Fior di Cacio event will also be an opportunity to explore the rich cultural and natural heritage of Vallo di Nera and its surroundings, discovering the main historical, artistic, and architectural landmarks of the village along with numerous outdoor activities: rafting along the Nera River, hiking along valley trails, donkey walks, children's activities, and folk music concerts.
